Building the New HCCC Library: Home

A photo essay on the construction of the new HCCC Library and Academic building.

Building Details

  • The building will have six stories; the first two will house the Library and a cafe
  • Building will be a total of 117,000 square feet
  • The sixth floor will feature an art/exhibition space; there also will be a rooftop terrace
  • The design is by NK Architects of Morristown, NJ and construction by MAST Construction
  • It's a "green" building, with LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification
  • The move-in date is slated for May, 2014

Library Details

  • The new Library will be 33,000 square feet on two floors (for comparison, our current Library is 8,300 square feet)
  • There will be several group work and study rooms for students
  • Yes, there will be new computers galore!
  • The stacks will hold more than 50,000 books, DVDs, magazines, and more...
